Somerville College

Somerville was founded in 1879 to give women, at that time excluded from membership of Oxford University, the chance to benefit from an Oxford education. The College fosters a pioneering spirit, and from its foundation in 1879, Somervillians have been making their mark on the world around them.

Gifts will be directed towards Somerville College's area of greatest need.
The new ROQ buildings will provide 68 en-suite student rooms, which will allow us to house more of our students throughout their course.
This will endow and safeguard Fellowships in key areas of need as the first step towards creating a secure future for academic posts.
Gifts will help Somerville to provide bursaries for all those who need them in order to meet our aim of recruiting the best students on a needs-blind basis.
