Lady Margaret Hall

As part of the Campaign for the Collegiate University, LMH's target is £20 million, of which £15 million is for new buildings and £5 million for Fellowships, Scholarships and Bursaries. We have already raised £6.5 million, of which £4 million is for the new buildings. Our fundraising results are improving strongly (2005-6: £834k; 2006-7: £2 million; 2007-8: over £3 million). We are immensely grateful for the support we have received to date, but we still have a long way to go. We are delighted that Dame Vivien Duffield (Modern Languages 1963) is the Chair of the Campaign for the University of Oxford.

Our goal is to accommodate all undergraduates and most postgraduates on site, without increasing our numbers, so that we provide superb educational facilities for all our students. The £15 million project will complete and enhance the work of earlier generations at LMH. A series of new buildings (undergraduate building, graduate centre, new lodge and gatehouses) will integrate the whole site, without impinging on our wonderful gardens, and provide a splendid new entrance.
Support for Tutorial Fellowships helps us to attract and retain the very best academics, both as teachers and as world-class researchers.
Public funding per student has declined markedly in recent years. We need to build up funds to assist students who might otherwise be deterred from coming to LMH.
