The Institute of Human Sciences


The Institute of Human Sciences runs the distinctive undergraduate degree in Human Sciences which aims to provide an education in interrelated aspects of social and natural sciences. In the modern world the need for an integrated approach to global human problems has never been greater. The Human Sciences degree - by bringing together the study of physiology, genetics, evolution, ecology, demography, anthropology, sociology, geography and psychology - provides its students with the holistic perspective needed to address many of today's social and scientific issues.

Financial support for the Institute of Human Sciences would enable the degree course not only to continue to flourish, but to develop the novel approaches to teaching necessary to address the fundamental difficulties associated with interdisciplinarity, and to develop further the unique character that is Human Sciences.
