Giving to Zoology

The Department of Zoology is an enthusiastic participant in the Oxford Thinking Campaign. The Department is looking to support new academic posts to support research and teaching, graduate prize studentships, and field course teaching for undergraduates. Our goals will be delivered in partnership with Oxford colleges, with whom we share the vision of sustaining world class research and teaching.

Research in the Department spans all levels from molecules to ecosystems, and tackles fundamental problems in ecology, evolution, conservation, developmental biology, behaviour and disease biology, including HIV and malaria. Internationally-respected researchers participate fully in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students, with research and teaching closely integrated in the department.

Your gift will be directed towards support for academic posts, critical to maintain the vitality of the Department, and to ensure that research and teaching in biological sciences continue to excel in parallel and in partnership.
Your gift will be directed towards prize graduate studentships and bursaries, enabling the very best graduates to undertake research degrees at Oxford regardless of background.
Your gift will be directed towards a special appeal to provide bursaries for undergraduate students participating in the Tropical Forest Ecology Field Course. This is a distinctive opportunity for students to appreciate and understand tropical forests first-hand, an experience that will last and influence a lifetime.
Your gift will be directed to the general areas of greatest in need in the Department of Zoology.
