Giving to the Centre for Vision in the Developing World
Over one billion people worldwide would benefit from corrective
eyewear, but lack access to it. The Centre for Vision in the
Developing World is dedicated to bringing vision correction to the
many parts of the world that lack it. Our work varies from vision
studies to practical methods for correction of sight. We are
particularly interested in self-adjustable eyeglasses that vastly
reduce the need for highly-trained optometrists in parts of the world
that often have less than one optometrist for every million people -
100 times worse than in the UK.
