Giving to the Nuffield Department of Clinical Medicine

The Nuffield Department of Clinical Medicine links high quality basic biological science with medical application and hosts one of the largest groupings of biomedical researchers in the University sector. It is also responsible for a significant part of the teaching of medical students at Oxford.

In addition, it operates a number of major overseas programmes in tropical medicine, with research units in Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Kenya. It also operates extensive epidemiological and clinical trials networks throughout China, India and South America.

Gifts will be directed towards the Nuffield Department of Clinical Medicine's area of greatest need.
The Shoklo Malaria Research Unit (SMRU) is a world leader in understanding the affects of malaria on pregnant women and their babies, and provides crucial healthcare services to refugee and migrant populations on the Thai-Burma border where it treats more than 100,000 patients annually.
