Giving to the Department of Biochemistry

The Department of Biochemistry provides a multidisciplinary and collaborative setting that brings together biochemists, cell biologists, developmental biologists, geneticists, systems/computational biologists and structural biologists. We have always had a commitment to support younger people in science, at a time when numbers are falling universally – please help us by giving to our support programmes below.

We are keen to fuel the enthusiasm of our undergraduates through research in the laboratory. Exposing them early to the excitement of a cutting–edge research environment can whet their appetite to stay in research, with training benefits for the researchers who supervise them, and for the supervisor who might be able to try out new ideas without the constraints of grant objectives.
Graduate students are the leaders of tomorrow, whether in teaching, research, administration or the policymaking of science funding. They play a critical role in keeping the department at the forefront of international research and are totally committed to their research. Gifts can help support funds for conference travel (vital for networking and idea generation), fees and essential living costs, especially for non-UK students.
Gifts will be directed towards the Department of Biochemistry's area of greatest need at a particular time. Unrestricted gifts are extremely welcome because of the flexibility they allow in response to a specific need.
