Giving to the Humanities Division
It is the work of the humanities to bring focus, reflection, interpretation, and learning to the issues which confront society in the twenty-first century. They provide the essential means for understanding and appreciating cultures, others as well as our own, through study of the languages, arts, religion, philosophy, history, and social lives of the myriad peoples of the earth. As our global community develops, with cultures, economies, and value systems interacting with increasing speed and intensity, the humanities help us to make sense of our world. They allow us to reflect on our past, and offer a guide for the future.
